There are 21 days left before the Daley’s will be packed and on the road in a 36-foot travel trailer with our 4 kids and hit the road on an epic business and personal adventure around the outer edge of the US.
Telling the truth is so right and so hard to do sometimes. In our house blaming others and lack of self-awareness gave birth to this value. It is easy to see this value not being embodied in others while thinking we ourselves are completely self-aware and accepting of our faults. During this Advent season we remember that our Lord and Savior was born on this earth to accept ALL the blame, and he was VERY self-aware.
At Xcelerate Business Solutions we have a similar value. We call it Trustified. Yes, we made up the word because it incorporates the two sides of trust. We need to trust others for society to work and part of that trust depends on our trustworthiness. Amazing work can be done out of a place of trust. Our business coaching with Crankset Group, consistently modeled and encouraged us to “trust in adult behavior.” These four words helped us to:
1) Hire stakeholders who act and work like adults.
2)Trust them to do their work at the time and place they want to do it.
We have really seen our investment of trust grow as we have deposited trust in our team. We have stakeholders who have an attitude of ownership, stakeholdership, and high participation. Trustworthiness is a trait much needed in our world today. Trustworthiness is about competence and reliability, but it is also so much more. I recently heard a sermon at our church, and it was talking about leadership. Our pastor said, “Godly leadership is taking personal, moral, and collective responsibility.” I loved this because taking responsibility IS self-awareness…not only personally but collective for the sake of any group (in this case Xcelerate Business Solutions).
Please pray we are self-aware as the Daley family, honest with ourselves, and focus on internal growth instead of blaming others. Please pray for the Xcelerate team that we would embody Trustified – both trusting others and being trustworthy.
